Wanting LS Help

My differental is giving way and im wanting to replace it with some 4.10's with LS. I dont know what i currently have...all i have right now is some numbers if anyone can help me with?
S862B 3_55_88_6C22. Im assuming its the 3.55's and 8.8 but not sure. Can anyone help me find a place where i can get a great price on the 4.10s i need with the LS? I have a friend that says he can change it all out for me for 225.00 is that a good price also? Any help would be appreciated.

I'm sure that's a 3.55, 8.8", that's what my tag says...I'm curious as to what you mean by your "differential is giving way" when you state at the same time you dont' know what you have. Do you mean you already have an LS and its starting to slip, but you just don't know what final ratio and ring gear size you have?

The ring and pinion gears and the LS are separate items. Just get the Form gears and the Ford LS diff. You'll need to know the spline count on your axles to get the right LS unit.

Im wanting to switch my gears with higher gears. I took my truck to a friend because its making a real loud snapping noise when i take off from a start and something seems to make a dropping noise...he checked it out and said that he really thinks its the rear end. I could replace it with the 3.55 but i rather go with some 4.10s. i dont have the LS but want to put that on my truck.
