Terrible Shaking/Vibrating

First time post! Thanks in advance for the help.

I recently came across an issue on my 2004 F150 Lariat SuperCrew 5.4L. At highway speeds, I would get a slight vibration when I let go of the gas. Cruising or accelerating poses no issues. Once I slow to the 35MPH range. The vibration turns more into a shake. And the more I slow down...the crazier the shaking gets. To the point where it feels like my truck is going to shatter like a block of ice...LOL.

Some quick history. This problem started about 1.5 weeks ago and it came on fairly suddenly. This is NOT brake related...it occurs whether I'm braking or not. Originally I attributed it to a bad alignment. So, last weekend, I used the opportunity to install the following parts that I had ordered a while back...

Rancho Quicklift Coilovers
Rancho Rear Shocks
Control Arms with Upper Ball Joint
Lower Ball Joint
Tie Rod End
Inner Tie Rod
Rotors
Pads
@Ford: Rims and brand new Trail Grapplers mounted, balanced and installed.
@Ford: Full front end alignment.

The issue did not change after all of the above was performed. My immediate thought was hub assembly (bearings)...but the shaking is just way too violent to be bearings. I've heard "unbalanced driveshaft" as a possible cause.

Any thoughts? And thanks again for helping.

Check the u-joints. I've also read on this forum that sometimes the splines going into the transmission need lube.

Look at the Drive Shaft Center Carrier Bearing, mine went and caused a hell of a vibration. Yours could be in the early stages of failing possibly. Easy to check, lay on the ground and grab the drive shaft right by the carrier bearing and see if you can move it around.

Quick update: The problem ended up being my rear u-joint. After pulling the driveshaft, the rear u-joint was completely seized in one direction. Even better news...I have an '04, which means my u-joints are "staked" and unserviceable. So, I ultimately had to purchase a whole new driveshaft. I had a whole new driveshaft built (with serviceable u-joints) at a local shop. Ended up costing less than a driveshaft from Ford.
After I swapped my driveshaft, I did fluid changes on my rear diff and transfer case. No vibration now. Thanks to everyone who helped out.
Oh...and I have a one piece drive shaft, so I don't have a carrier bearing. But thank you for the info! These forums are awesome!
