Ok so i have been looking around online for this truck it is a friends truck 05 f150 4x4 has all the vacuum locking hubs and all that but nothing works we have replaced the solenoid behind the battery hecked for power at every relay and fuse there is no power he had the selector motor on transfer replaced but there is no power to anything nothing to the switch nothing to any of the other stuff im stumped not really sure where to go next except ford lol anything else to check help please thanks in advanced for anything
I'm not going to be able to help with this, but no one else is either unless you re-write that paragraph properly, clearly, and with punctuation. Not trying to be rude, but it's pretty hard to understand what you've done, tried, etc.
Agree with KMAC, kind of hard to follow here and throwing new parts at it doesn't help thing either. If I decipher correctly are you saying you checked for power at all the fuses and relays and there was no power?? If you are checking circuits you need to follow the Ford PPT tests and ohm them out. That's what ford techs will do. Look at what glc posted about the IWE's, dont just assume its all good. Are there any DTC's on the truck, this will help diagnose the issue.
Ok let me try to explain it better lol. I was in a bit of a hurry lastnight my friend has a 05 f150 it has the IWE system for the 4x4. Its not working but nothing seems to be working in the system, we started with the solenoid for the iwe because it had the old style one that would go bad that didn't fix anything he went and had the transfer shift motor replaced but that didn't do anything either. I checked all the relays under the dash as well as the ones under the hood and i get no voltage to any of them. I also cheked the wiring for the selector switch on the dash and no power there either so im not really sure where we should go next without taking it to ford and him shelling out a bunch of money for them to do it.
That's weird that the electronic shift select **** in the cab isn't even getting power. I have no idea, but I would think that almost has to be a fuse, or maybe a bad ground for the whole system? I don't know how at all how the 4x4 works in detail, but not getting power even to that switch is too funky. Something weird is going on. Not to ask an overly obvious question, but are you sure your volt meter works?
