Intermittent CLACK from 4x4

Hello all;

I have a 2002 supercab 4x4, electric 4x4 shift and 170K miles.

When I am driving between 20 - 35 in a straight line I hear an intermittent CLACK coming from the drivers front (i think). Just one, then all is quiet for 5-10 minutes and then another single CLACK.

The drive shaft and axles look good, so I am leaning towards the vaccuum system.

Whaddaya think....am I on the right track?

Thank you in advance.

Yes. Sound like your vacuum system is leaking. Solenoid, air lines, or IWE's.
