Thanks Str8t six. You've been helpfull. I did not even ask about a getting a warrenty written into the deal. Honestly I have never had a warrenty honored, so never really rely on them. The shop doing the work is a custom fabrication offroad shop that builds custom rigs. I have not read anything negative about them. It is Baertrax out of Dallas, TX. Every time I have called them I have spoken with the owner, and he sounds sincere about standing behind his work. From my research all the parts and prices seem about right, and the labor doesn't seem overpriced for the work they are doing. I appreciate your help and opinions just in case I may be overlooking anything. I don't want to cheap out on the install, but also don't want to pay too much.

yeah i just wanted to mention the warranty since some people have had problems with their gears whining while driving, but if you trust the shop then by all means go for it. what brand of gears are they putting in?

i dont think heat would be a problem, but i did upgrade to a TA performance cover for more fluid capacity with a drain and also it looks alot better than the stock one since its pretty easy to see on a lifted truck.

They use Nitro gears. As far as the warrenty goes, they are 24 month, unlimited mile warrenty.

never heard of nitro gears, for the price they are charging for them, you could run yukons!

I did some searching through the offroad forums on these gears. Some say they are stronger and quieter than the Yukon's, and others say that they are both made from the same manufacturer and labeled differently. Couldn't really find anything definate though.

Sounds to me like your doing things the right way by buying all good products and having them professionally installed. I found every time i have cheaped out and tried to save a few bucks with going with somthing i didn't exactly want or didn't listen to every one about spending the extra money its bit me in the A$$.... You will be super happy with your choice gonna be pretty effin sweet man!

in the bed, spare tire area, or tucked under the cab would be the safest places i would think.

I'd agree with Str8t In the bed.... Just incase you ever do get it all muddy you would prob like to keep those expensive compressors clean!
