So i am going to change the fluid in both diffs coming up here soon and i know i need friction modifier in the rear but what about the front?? Is it safe to add it just in case or is it not needed at all??

I have a 08 STX 4x4 4.6L with an all stock drive train

It is not needed. The front is an open diff.

Not sure of the amount, but I believe it is listed in the owners manual. If you do not have one, you can download one for free from www.motorcraftservice.com. Also, not sure if the weight listed for the rear was co9rrect. Ford changed the specs to 75w140 for the rear.

75W140 full synthetic with friction modifier in the rear, 80W90 conventional or 75W90 synthetic in the front.

The front takes 3.6 pints, which is just under 2 quarts. Rear takes 5.5 pints, which is just under 3 quarts.
