I own a 2000 F-150 XLT with 3000 miles. Just last week I noticed I had a humming noise which can be heard around 30 to 40 mph. I left it at the dealership seven days ago, and they have yet to find the problem. I am extremely pleased with the truck except for this annoying and unexplainable noise. If anyone knows of a fix for this problem please let me know, since the dealership doesn't and I need my truck back.

 

Give it till 10K for the tires to wear in.

If the hum is more of a whine -- you could be hearing gears -- which may also quiet down after the 7-10K break-in.
