I have a 98 F150 that is four wheel drive with the ORP. It also has the towing package as well as the 5.4. How can I tell which gears I have? Weren't the options 3.08 and 3.55?

 

Look at the sticker in the driver side door jam. There is a code for the axle. I think 9 = 3.55 I don't know what the other codes are. Someone here should.

The webmaster is busy doing several of the reconstruction steps for the website. When he is finished, a search on gears will give you a couple of good threads on finding gears.

Mine has 3.55. The easiest way for me to find it was to look on the differential plate and write down the numbers all the way around it.

If you have those numbers, then you can easily see the gears. Your's will probably have either 308 or 355 on the plate.
