Squeaking upon medium acceleration

I recently bought a 1992 F150 2wd, and I need to figure out what this annoying noise is.

There is a squeak squeak squeak that I am hearing, I believe it is coming from the rear axle, somewhere.

It only squeaks when I accelerate, and will go away as soon as I take my foot off the gas. It speeds up in relation to the speed, not the engine RPMs. Makes the noise in 1st and 2nd gear, that I know of.

I searched for a while and could not find a post that matches my description, so any input would be greatly appreciated

Thanks!

My guess is universal joint is going...I have an '05 Silverado work truck that currently has this issue. Started as a squeak squeak squeak under light throttle, not engine speed. Now it's squeaks, as well as clunking, grinding, etc.

DIY and get replacements with grease (zerk) fitting. This is prolly overkill, but you get the idea
