Squeak From Rear Axle
Squeak From Rear Axle
Hello everyone,
I have lurked around this forum for a while but have never posted. After searching this site high and low for a similar post, I have a question I'm hoping you guys/gals can help me with.
My 2006 F-150 FX4 with 65k miles has developed a slow speed squeak originating from the rear axle. This afternoon, I jacked up the rear of my truck and spun my tires, no squeak. So then I pull in and out on the tire and I can duplicate the squeak and noticed a fair amount of in and out slop. The other side tire has the exact same slop and squeaks when I move it in and out.
There are no visible signs of oil leaks and the oil level in my diff is perfect.
So I guess my question is, how much slop is acceptable and do you think I have wheel bearings failing?
