Can someone tell me how to determine what rear end in is in my truck from the VIN?

I don't know if you can tell from the VIN, but if you look at the door post on the drivers side there is the data about the truck. Mine is a H9 which apparently is a 3.55LS. After you find the code for the axle call the dealer to find out what it means. This is a list of codes that I have but I would definately double check with the dealer Axle Codes

The following lists the gear ratios on rear axles.

19 — 3.55 non-limited slip (Econoline, F-150)
18 — 3.08 non-limited slip (F-150)
H9 — 3.55 limited slip (F-150, F-250)
B6 — 3.73 limited slip (F-150, F-250)
27 — 3.31 non-limited slip (F-250)
26 — 3.73 non-limited slip (F-250)

You can also look at the metal tag on the pumkin to find out.
