How much to replace my broken rearend?

Had to rebuild my user ID...so not my first post...

3.73 limited slip 9.75" . Clutches (and I think bearings) are shot at 95K. I've been quoted just shy of 2 grand to fix. I think I need a new TracLoc with a rebuild kit (4 out of 6 bearings, I think. I'm not a mechanic). It grumbles while turning like it's going to blow out and whines very slightly on the straight if you listen carefully. Metal dust on the magnet when I had the fluid changed, hoping I could buy some time, but it just got worse.

Saw the TruTrac on Randy's ring and pinion; heard they click while turning not under load from another mechanic. I called Bruce; he said they were excellent in mud and snow, with better lockup once one tire turns 100 RPM faster than the other.

Any thoughts? 2006 F150 XLT Lariat 5.4

Did you add the Friction Modifier for your LS when you changed the diff fluid out?
