4x4 Hub assembly Question

I have a 2006 F150 4x4 with the 5.4L with 82000 miles on it. Recently I went to engage my four wheel drive (Electric Shift) and it made a grinding noise, then the light came on and I could tell that it was not engaged by the way it was driving. I tried many times and it still would not engage. So I put it up on a lift and all I get is a grinding noise (it will not lock the front wheels) We did manage to get the drivers side to lock but the passanger side wont. So we took the hub assembly apart and it looks like the gears on the inside of the hub and cv axle side is sheared a bit. Also the gear on the hub assembly side is sheared a bit too. Here is my questions: Has anyone else had this problem and is this still covered under my powertrain warranty? Aslo does anyone know a good website that I can find the complete breakdown of the hub assembly?

I read the article and that is some very usefull info. A buddy and I took apart the passanger side hub and the gears are sheared inside the cv axle side and the a little bit on the wheel side. So I think that is part of the problem for sure and I am hoping that the powertrain warranty will cover it. Thanks for all the help. I printed out that infor and will pass it on to people I know. Thanks again
