Hey thanks for reading my head I have a 1998 f 150 4x4 wheel drive automatic I was driving down the road with a quarter tank of gas my truck cut off while driving m will not crank back up any ideas where should I start

 

If it cranks at all and just doesnt start it sounds like ur fuel pump. Little more info would help though.
Also check ur fuses. #19 maxi fuse under hood and ignition fuse under dash.

 

Did you happen to hit a pothole or bump in the road? VCheck the fuel shutoff switch that is behind the passenger side kick panel

 

Hey sorry I haven't got back to ok this is were I have gotten I got a obd2 and pulled code p1299 clearly it stats cht sensor. But I have read and read sites pages and forums and gathered aloft of info possibly my engine is in fail safe mode. Still will not start turning over fine how!!!!!!

How can I reset settings on truck or get fail safe off. Someone please walk me through it. I really need this truck!!!!!

 

That code tells you that the CHT sensor is telling the PCM that it's overheating, and it will NOT start till you fix what's causing that. It's probably a defective CHT sensor or something wrong in the wiring to it.

You can NOT just "reset" it or "get it out" of fail-safe.
