What is this noise
I have just begun to hear a noise from the front end. It seems like it is coming from the right front of the truck (sounds kinda like it is just below the dash)While I am going slow and turn, it makes a sound and the only way I know to describe it is a lid to an old trunk being opened. Just a slow creeping sound. I do not notice it at any other times. Any suggestions would be appreciated?

Hard to tell over the internet but look for something metal on metal that could be rubbing. Try greasing all your fittings and making sure all your bushings are intact. If it will do it without moving have someone turn the wheels while you look underneath and isolate the sound. I see that your truck is a 2001. Don't hesitate taking it back to the dealer under warrenty because if it is squeeking or creaking then something is going to wear out.

Have you checked the power steering? Sounds similar to the noise that was coming from the front end of my truck when I bought it. I believe the mechanic said there was a TSB for my year truck about the noise. It still does it some but not as noticeable as before he worked on it; I think it involved bleeding some excess air from the lines.
Mine is making the same noise and it is a '99. I was thinking that my brake rotors were beginning to warp or I had some worn out pads.
(5500 LBS) + (Rush Hour Traffic) + (Lead Foot) = Potential Early Brake Problem, but now I am not sure.
The power steering pump makes a very noticeable whine when hot so now I want to get it in a checked out before my warrantee expires.

Maybe your pitman arm?
I'm guessing it's the pitman arm. Do a search in this forum for pitman arm and I'm sure you'll come across some info. There isn't a grease fitting on the pitman arm and once the grease dries out it starts squeaking. It's a common problem and I had mine replaced last Spring. Sounded like an old swingset. If you get it replaced make sure there's a grease fitting so you never have to go back. Why the didn't put one on it in the factory I don't know.

1997 4x4's had a problem with the rivits in the frame on the right front which allowed the two pieces of frame to move (creak, crack, crunch, and pop).
The fix was removal of the rivits and bolting with strong, hard bolts & nuts.
Clever machinists can drill and drive taper-pins to accomplish the same effect without removing the rivits.
