Ring & Pinon for 07 f150?

Hey everybody, my truck has 3.55 gear with 35" tires... so I want to change them to 4.11 or 4.10. Problem is, I can not find anyone who sells the ring and pinon set for the front end since its a 4x4, only the rear end. Some shops say i would have to replace my front end with a 2005 or lower? If anyone can help me find matching front and rear ring and pinon sets, please let me know. Thanks!

Truck Info,
2007 Ford F150 4.6L with 8.8" non LSD(also says DANA on it if you need that info)

I am not sure why the shop would not know that the R&P is a reverse cut 8.8. Yukon, Motive Gear and other companies make the R&P for our front ends. Randy's Ring and Pinion, Summit Racing and others all carry the parts. By the way, I would recommend 4.56's for your rig. I have 35's on mine now with 3.73's and will be doing a swap front and back soon along with an Eaton TrueTrac as well. Here is a link to Randy's page for the front R&P: http://www.ringpinion.com/PartsList....D=167&CatID=35

Are hee front transfer cases specific by model in having the ring and pinon gear's reverse instead of standard?

Also, with 4.56 gears, whats the top speed of your vehicle with those in?

If you give Randy's or any other reputable ring and pinion shop, your year and model F150, they will make sure the right ring and pinion is ordered. I believe 04-08 4x4's are the same but don't quote me on that. If you have 35" tires the 4.56 ring and pinion will take you back pretty close to the same ratios you had when you had stock tires. The new Raptor with 35" tires comes stock with 4.10 gears but also has a different transmission than we do with different ratios. For our transmission with 35's the 4.56's will perform much like a stock truck. Keep in mind that the top speed will be about the same but you are pushing more rolling weight and resistance with larger tires so it might diminish a bit. With 35" tires on your truck you aren't driving a Lightening....

Even with 4.56's you will hit the speed limiter long before you would hit the rev limiter.

With 35's and 4.56's, at 100 mph in 3rd (NOT overdrive) you will be at about 4400 rpm. How fast do you want to go?

Your theoretical top speed is about 175 mph - redline in overdrive. It will NEVER pull it.

Oh thats good, I just heard that if you put anything higher than 4.11, the truck would have a drop in speed down to the 90's and such and of course high acceleration.
Ill give them a call and ask them and see if they know. Thanks guys

Whoever said that was probably referring to re-gearing absent a tire change. If you had stock tires and say threw on 5.13's, you would definitely have some RPM problems. If you are increasing tire size and then changing the ring and pinion to keep your RPM's similar, no problems at all.

It's either 8.8" (normal cut) or 9.75" depending on what came with it.

They are 8.8" on both ends, and looks like the front is a reverse cut and rear is a standard. I believe that I found some now. Thanks for your help guys
