Remove the 6 bolts holding the inner joint to the axle flange. 12mm 12point socket. Remove the sway bar end link. Remove the axle nut. Slide out the shaft. Removing the sway bar end link allows you to slide the half shaft out without removing the ball joint and moving the steering knuckle.

Thanks JMC! My to do list is replace that CV axle & drain/flush tranny and transfer case. Then hopefully I'll be OK for awhile---DirtySCREW
