2WD Gear Questions

Hey guys. Plan to do a BL/level once I get a new DD and 33"-34" tires. I have an open diffy right now and am planning to either get a LS or a true locker.

I have 4.6L and a 3.73. Should I regear and how much am I looking at for gears and LS/locker?

Thanks.

Well i can help you with the gear part! Iam getting my gears for my 2wd put in soon and i got a quote of 200-250 for one axle and i thought that was very resonable. it was gonna be around 500 if they supply the gears (Yukon) but i think i might get the motive gears, im not sure yet.

As far as what ratio, I would say 4.56 cause 4.10s wouldnt be worth it (IMO) especially if you tow, I say leave it at 3.73 or regear to 4.56

I replaced my open rear end with a Detroit True-Trac. Including bearings I paid about $500. I used my old gears. With new gears, you can expect $800 or more. And, if you can't do it yourself, I would guess another $300 or so for labor.

I believe the F250LD has a 10.25 axle, and those may not have the same aftermarket options as the 8.8 and 9.75 axles.
