auto locking hub issues

just wondering on my 08 super crew f150 when the 4 wheel drive is disengaged and you jack one front wheel and turn it by hand should the drive train still move as if only the transfer case only disengages, or is it supposed to release at the hub as well because i got a nasty vibration and am chewing through tires and no one can seem to fix it. ford said this is normal but i disagree but might be wrong. please help

You expect an answer in 30 minutes? Last I looked, this wasn't a chat room!

Search the forum for "IWE" or "integrated wheel end" - you should find what you need to figure out how the system works.

In short, yes. The system operates on a vacuum, and when that vacuum isn't present, i.e. the engine isn't running, the hubs are engaged, therefore turning the wheel with the engine off will turn the front drivetrain. PM me for more help as I just got done fighting this problem myself.
