If there is anyone who can help me on my transmission would greatly appreciate it. I took my truck in to get the transmission fixed, they said they replace the whole transmission. They said they took the whole thing out and replaced it with a new one. Well I was under the truck tonight and notice gray spray paint all around the transmission. I got thinking that maybe they took me for a ride, because I think they told me one thing took my money and now my truck is running poorly again. I have taken the tag off the transmission and was trying to see if it was still the original transmission but I dont know how to tell. If anyone could assist me on this I would greatly appreciate it. If you couldnt tell I am a woman and I think they really took advantage of me. Any Help....

I don't know that you would be able to tell. It's possible they rebuilt your old transmission or put a remanufactured transmission in your original's place. What were your symptoms before and what are they now? Running poorly doesn't give anyone a lot of information that would help you get the information that you're seeking. You're going to have to give much more detail than that. Transmission issues are usually slipping, not shifting into all gears, shifting harshly or not at all. Running poorly describes an issue that would seem more related to engine functions.
