Transfer case

I was attempting to check the transfer case fluid in my 2002 f150 5.4 v8 and I noticed that there was two plugs on it and I figured it would make sense to take out the top one to check the level on it and it started pouring out ... Is this the wrong plug...was it too high ...how do I put the fluid back into it

You probably need a new seal between the tranny and transfer case. Let it pour out till it stops, that's the correct plug. I'm betting your tranny fluid may be low?
