CV axle replacement question

Well found out the boot on both axles is ripped and the dealer is saying its not covered under my warranty due to the leveling kit I have. So Im going to replace them myself. Im going to replace the entire halfshaft rather than just the boot.

So my question is...What all do I have to take off to get the axle out. Just wondering what I can get away with not taking off. Is it necessary to take the knuckle completely off? I thought I read somewhere that you can get away with unbolting the sway bar and you dont even have to take the wheel off. I obviously would take the wheel off but if I can get it out real easy let me know. Thanks guys.

iv got a 97 and i have to take the hub off and disconnect the sway bar to get the shafts out so if yours is anything like mine you will have to take the hub off. i had the same problem with mine kept tearing boots. you might want to rethink that leveling kit cause that was the problem with mine. i fixed that with a 6 inch bds lol. hope i could help
