4x4 help

My 4 wheel drive has been acting up lately on my 2003 f150. When i switch it into 4 wheel drive the light comes on in my dash and i hear the clunk sound like it has engaged, but i have no power to my front wheels. Any ideas? Oh and i have the shift on fly switch by the way.

You are hearing the transfer go in.
It's in your actuators(up on passenger side firewall underhood) or the actuator on top of the axle itself.
The ones on the firewall just drip some oil on them(after you pop cover of course).
Then crawl under the truck by the front axle, look at the actuator, have someone put it in 4wd and you should physically see the actuator move, if it does not then you have firewall actuator problems, if it does and doesn't go far enough then fork(not so easy fix) or actuator on axle is bad.
I suggest watching it work from axle and then go from there. Just because it moves doesn't mean it works(try 4wd). If it moves and doesn't work try giving it a extra push or just disconnect the actuator and put it in yourself(by hand) and try it.

Hope this helps.

Jeff

Well i took a look under my truck today and the actuator appears to be working fine. I tryed giving it an extra push, but everything seemed good and tight. Where should i look next?

disconnect it down there(the rod) and try moving it further.
if still no luck take it off and look at the collar and fork to make sure they are not broken or bent
