CV Boot replacement

just wondering, ive got a 2000 f150 7700, and as far as I know it's a non serviceable outter joint and to replace the outter CV boot you need to remove the inner joint and boot as well. My question is can I remove the outter joint to clean it and repack it or do I have to clean and repack it on the shaft?

I'd recommend you just buy a reman axle shaft.

you cannot disassemble the outer shaft at all. You are correct that you ned to disassemble the inner joint in order to get the outer on. If it is clean inside of the torn boot just ram a bunch of the grease that comes in the boot kit. I would not recommend buying a reman axle or a new aftermarket axle. I have seen too many of them break

ya, I pull all kinds of dead weight with my truck and it see's alot of offroad with 2k in the box, it's just a small hole about pen size, going to tackle it this weekend. I just hope I cann clean the outter joint pretty good in a solvent tank.
