EGR Flow insuffcient
EGR Flow insuffcient
Hey guys I'm haveing a little trouble with my egr flow. I have changed my egr valve and I changed the EGR pressure feedback sensor back in October was just wondering if any of the other parts related to the egr valve would make it through the code
Your not out of the woods with the 5four either, I've seen those almost completely blocked as well.
You can check the port for obstruction like this.
While @ idle pull the green line from the EGR valve.
Sub in your own line using a scrap piece of 1/8" ID emission hose (or anything you can get to fit tight enough)
With the engine is running, suck on the scrap piece of hose like your drinking a milkshake.
If the engine idle deflects and almost stalls, your port is clear enough to flow.
If no change in idle takes place, then your port is plugged.
The engine should want to stall quickly when testing. If it only deflects slightly, it may be partially plugged.

Other than that. A bad or wrong DPFE sensor could be the problem.
Your EVR or main vac harness line could be compromised (not the black, the white line). This usually happens between the battery and firewall where the harness connects.

^Jbrew is right on the money.
I had the same problem awhile back. Just as a reference to what these guys are telling you:

This is more-so what you want it to look like

They also call that the Plenum. Hell, I just call it the throttle body elbow to make it less confusing, but it is an intake part.
It goes like this.
The air intake connects to the throttle body, throttle body connects to the throttle body elbow (plenum, intake or whatever), throttle body elbow connects to the upper intake, upper intake connects to the lower intake.
Just sing it a few times , you'll remember
BTW - Great pics b2, but that looks like a 4six. The 5four uses one large chamber, that's why they don't usually plug totally, those will get partially plugged right around the EGR and elbow connect. I thought you had a 5four b2 ?
