Alright, when i put the truck in 4 wheel HIGH it goes into 4WD, but the LOW RANGE light is now comming on. The truck is not in 4wheel LOW but the light is on. Why does the light for 4wheel LOW come on when the truck is in 4wheel HIGH?

I just bought a 01' F150 and it snowed a fair amount here in IL so I went to try out the 4wd after getting stuck where I parked, LMAO. Mine did the exact same thing! I cycled it on and off a couple times and it still did it. A couple days later I put it in 4 high again, and only the 4x4 light came on, like its supposed to. Tried it again a few days later, same thing, worked just fine.

Sorry I can't be of more help but maybe this is a somewhat common issue. Sounds like an electrical gremlin of some type to me.

 

Thanks for the reply. Ive tried it a few times the last couple of days but it still happens. Maybe someone else will chime in with a fix for the both of us.
