Vibration in the rear

Anyone have this problem? When I take off from a stop I get a jerking vibration in the driveline. I was told that this was the limited slip getting build up on it and to use a differential cleaner/detergent. Did this with no luck. Help, it is driving me crazy. Thanks

check fluid levels and see if you have a leak from the axle first.

if you have clean fluid with none of that cleaner in it, then go ahead and add a bottle of friction modifier from ford. if it's not fresh fluid then change it out and make sure you add friction modifier.

I wonder if this could be my problem. Mine only happens to me when i accelerate from a stop while turning, (ex: pulling out of a driveway) the rearend makes a rumbling vibration sound and once the vehicle is going straight its gone. Any advice????

mine did the same thing when turning or starting from stop. The problem was improper diff fluid. use only ford fluid and the friction modifier is a must on limited slips, problem solved.

75W140 full synthetic gear oil and a bottle or 2 of Ford friction modifier will fix it if it's limited slip clutch chatter, unless the problem is worn U-joints.

Mine was doing this as well. I just changed the fluid with 75W 140 AMSoil gear oil, and 4oz of their friction modifier. Still getting the vibration. Is it because of the AMSoil???

Slip yoke/spline problem when from a stop. Ford has a Clunk/Bump TSB on that issue. What are we talking about here? A Ford or what? Nevermind, someone stole this guys thread.

No, but you should have used the Ford modifier.

I have had the same exact problem. I changed my rear end fluid last night with 75w-140 Mobil 1 Full Synthetic and added 4 oz. of friction modifier. She's been sitting ever since to let the form-a-gasket seal up good for the diff cover. Going on a 1.5 hr trip soon, so I'll find out soon if it still is doing the same. P.S. had alot of sludge/metal filings on the fill plug.

Still have the same vibration in the rear end. Fluid change DIDN'T change a thing!

What GLC said. Change the fluid in the rear and add modifier. Mine did that and I changed the fluid and added 1 bottle of modifier. NO REAL CHANGE I added a second bottle AND after about 500 miles it made a difference. I checked around alot for how long to wait for the stuuf to work in and got no real answer. I was ready to do the clutch packs as that is what the issue is and it is slowly getting better. There still is a very slight vibration on the odd turn but way better and not worth the 5-600 b ucks they want for new packs. The good part is that this will never leave me on the side of the road so I will wait!!
