Axle whine/gear noise

Had the gear noise in my 05 from 45-58 mph and had the gears redone at about 30K. The noise is back at 60K. I'm thinking of getting the entire rear axle assembly out of a newer truck from the junkyard and swapping it in instead of rebuilding. My question is, are the 06,07,08's experiencing the same gear noise as the 04-05's ?

I think the whine has been around awhile. My local dealership rebuilt the diff on my '01 twice under warranty, but couldn't get rid of the whine. FoMoCo finally replaced the entire rear axle, innards and housing, at around 35k, and no more whining, now with 165k. FoMoCo said there was probably a casting flaw in the original housing that prevented the pinion depth form ever being properly set.

I would have thought they would have been able to eliminate whining axles by now, but apparently not.
