T case motor change

Put in the brand new t case motor, stil no 4x4...

BEFORE I put the new motor in, I would turn my selector switch and get NOTHING.

but NOW I turn my switch to A4WD, the A4WD light blinks, 4HI-nothing, 4LO- A4WD light...

i've had the motor in my box at work for over a month, it just looked so bad overwhelming to change it, but it was a piece of apple pie... just removed both speed sensors from the t case and brought it to the bench and pulled pin by pin

i was saying that the shift motor on the t-case, i thought it was for 4x4 low and the 4x4 shift fork on the front diff is where the initial shift is.

lets start over, which t-case do you have?

I thought that the shift fork, and actuator on the front diff did the 4x4 engagement, and that the motor on my t-case (4406 i think) did the low range

So the motor you're talking about is actually the ESOF (Electronic Shift on the Fly) motor. It replaces the manual shift lever for the transfer case and actually shifts the Transfer Case between 2WD, Neutral, 4 Hi and 4 Low. The locking of your front hubs (actually IWEs) is a separate, but related thing. You need to determine why you're not getting the correct light on the dash. Is it because your TC is not shifting and your hubs are locked or the other way around? If it's the IWEs, TNF150 has posted up a great thread in the 2004-2008 forum on them. If it's an internal problem in the TC, you're in the right forum.

Your Expi uses the GEM to pulse the electromagnetic clutch for A4WD. If you are not getting the lights make sure they test out on start up. Pull the Battery cable to reset the system and try again. If i still failswe will need to get out the schematics.

Good point. My bad. The other information should be correct though.
