The VIN is not what you need to identify the axle. You need to get the axle code off of the sticker in the drivers side door jamb. Its a 2 digit code, either a letter and number, or 2 numbers. Then do a search on this forum, There was a pretty detailed thread on this. try searching "Axle Codes"
