driveshaft question
driveshaft question
i have a 2002 4.6 f150 with a aluminum driveshaft, and today i had some exhaust work patched up, and the guy that did it hit the driveshaft with the welder, this wouldnt throw it out of balance would it? if so how could i tell
you would notice a vibration while driving.
the only way to throw it out of balance is if he dented or bent it (would have to be a pretty hard hit) or added a decent amount of material to the driveshaft. unless your pipes are aluminum, doubtful, the weld probably won't stick.
really you don't have much to worry about and a driveshaft being out of balance is almost immediately noticeable upon driving.
