2005 xlt 4x4 rear end question

i need help guys what gears would do me some good and what am i workin with right now or were can i find out what i have i want more pep and any info would help guys thanks in advance

Look on the door jamb sticker for the axle code. That will tell you what ratio it is and if it's limited slip.

NOTE that you need to change both the front and rear gears if you want to use 4 wheel drive. That's about a $1500 job.

yea i know id have too change both and i was gonna do it myself i just dont know how to go about what ratios to go with wut do all you guys use just tryin to find out wut will help and thank you for letting me know were to find that info i appeciate it bro

It all depends what ratio you have now, what size tires you have, and what you use your truck for and what you expect. If you have never regeared an axle yourself, you have a lot of research to do and you need special tools, it's not just open it up, pull things out, and put new things back in.

oh i know my step dad has everything i need ive been in a garagemost of my life but its been with imports this is my first truck so in a way its new to me you know but i do understand its not just in and out

but i dot haul anything if i do its gonna be my motorcycle um not much offroad at all if any and i run 33 tires 20 inch wheels just a leveling kit
