slight grinding noise from front end
i may be just stupid and not know it might be just something
im not thinking of
but when im driving in 2wd i hear a slight grinding noise comming from
the front end and the more i drive it the louder it gets
but if i let off and change my speed highter or lower it will go away for a min
or so
but when i hear the noise and i put it 4wd while im driving
it will go away, for as long as i stay in 4wd
the i can put it back into 2wd and after a couple seconds go by
the noise comes back
i have no clue what it might be
i have owned this truck and others like it and never hurd this type
of thing before
i might just be stupid
but please someone tell me what it is or might be
lol
thanx alot fellow ford people
and i hope to hear some feedback soon
cause i might just set it on fire!

I have the exact same problem so have have replace selenoid, check valve and when my brother inlaw was going to replace the actuators he noticed the hubs were no good hopefully after new actuators and hubs this will solve the problem. Keep us informed as to what solves your problem
hey
i have had the acyuators checked and they say that everything is ok with them
so my next thing to do is change my hubs
ill let you know how it comes out in the end!
for the price of new hubs/wheel bearrings im hoping that
that is my problem

After replacing both actuators and hubs (yes they do come with the bearings) i drove it home and no grinding noise as of yet, i tried to get it to grind and for the fist time could not, lets hope the problem is solved. Not sure if the actuators were bad but i figured since we were already igoing to be in there and my brother inlaw is ever so busy i really had no choice but to suck it up and get all done at once.
