Shift on the Fly question help needed.

I just purchased an 05 F150 with the shift on the fly option and I should have tried thsi before but too late. When I shift between 2w and $w Hi nothing seems to happen, the light will flash but will not stay illuminated. From the owner's manual I can't tell if the light should be on or not. It will engage and light up in 4w lo. Am I doing something wrong or am I being too impatient?

Thanks for any help.

Something isn't right. The light should come on and stay on, no mater if it's 4HI or 4 LO. It is odd that 4 LO seems to be working corectly...at least by your description...but you are having these problems with 4 HI. In my experience, 4wd either works or it doesn't, i've never seen it 1/2 work. Sorry I couldn't be more help, but I'm sure some experts will chime in on this.

That is odd, usually 4WD will or will not work. Sounds like a job for a Ford technician instead of an internet diagnosis.

check and see if it works in 4hi any way, even if the lights off.
