Hi all. Just traded the 98 in for an 06 SC 5.4 with 65K on it. From a stop turning a corner, the rear end has a slight "rumble" for about a half second. You can feel it more than you can hear it. Any thoughts?

 

Change the gear lube. 75W140 full synthetic with friction modifier.

 

Thanks, glc. I took it in to my garage and they found metal shavings. I called the dealership and they said to go ahead and fill it back up and we'll bring you a loaner and take it back to our garage. It turns out the clutch pack was shot so they rebuilt, plus we found a broken fuel line next to the filter, so they fixed that, along with pumping out the front diff and replacing the transfer case fluid all at no cost to me, plus a $50 gift cert to Outback Steakhouse. They really stepped up since I found this "fluke" so soon. If anyone plans on buying a vehicle at Dave Smith Auto based out of Kellogg, ID, tell Carlos Mariscal Aaron Carruth sent you.
