What gears to go with

Ok I have a 2007 larait 2wd. I have 305/50/20's on it with are the same as a 32's. I want to be able to get out of the hole better with them and was wondering what gear size to go with ( o and i also tow a trailer with a 67 camaro on the wkends). Was just looking to get some help.

Are you planning on increasing your tire size? If not I would say that a 4.10 would be good. What gears do you have right now 3.55's?

i dont plan on going any bigger with the tire size. I called my dealer and they said that i have 373 gears. How much would it really help by changing out the gears? also what brand should i get?

Since you have 3.73's you might not feel that much of a difference although it will help. I dont know if you would consider getting 4.30's....you would definitely feel a difference with those. As far as brands go Ford Racing makes 4.30's only for the rear so it would be good for you. If you go 4.10's you might want to check out Precision, Yukon or Genuine.

In my area Raleigh/Durham it was about $670.00 for the yukon 4.10s and the installation.

from 97-08 the trucks came with

4.2, 4.6 = 8.8

5.4 = 9.75

4.10's will be your best bet.

you could have either 3.55 or 3.73 both are offered from the factory. Best way to firgure this out is by either looking on your axle cover there will be a metal tag with the ratio stamped on it, OR by looking at the label inside the door, find where it says axle and post what it says. Ill find the info you need with just that number.

the whole quote wasnt for you... but obviously you dont even know what axle is under your truck.

But yeah the axle part was to your question the ratio was to the OP.

I geuss i got to spell out who im typing to. Or else people get alittle pissy around here. Why would i tell you what gears you need, you never asked. Some people dont think enough or something.

Ill go fix my post for the simpler minds to follow
