Well I took the truck out to go do a little offroading, and well I hit a spot where I needed the 4x4 High, so I switched it(I dont have ESOF) while in neutral, the light would temporarily light up then fade away.

The 4x4 High was working though, it's just Im not really sure what would exactly cause it to flash on and off, the 4x4 Low lights up though when shifted into.

Any help would be appreciated!

I have a 2004 STX 4.6L.

 

After searching the forums I dont see anyone really having this problem, so Im pretty lost on what it could be.

may be a loose wire somewhere. Not sure what sensors there are that control that light though. Maybe someone else will chime in.

 

Thats what I was figuring is there was a loose wire, but would it mean that the loose wire is down by the shifter and I need to pull the console off the floor?
