Power steering flush

Is there anyway of doing a flush yourself? I tried it yesterday by disconnecting the return line into a drain bucket and the pressure/speed is so fast, I tested it by turning it on then off and the reservoir empties instantaneous.

Thinking about it now, would it work to disconnect the supply line and feed it into a 4 quart jug?

I read that people were actually turning the wheel lock to lock, but at that pump pressure, even 4 quarts would empty in 10 seconds I would think.

The pressure was also so much, the fluid actually deflected out of the container all over the undercarriage.

Yeah that’s why I just gave the dealership the money to do it, I didn’t want the hassle or have to clean up the mess.
