A gasket for the 8.8 rear is $4.99 at Autozone, and it's a Fel-Pro.

Can I get a gasket for the 9.75" rear somewhere?

Also Do I need friction modifier? I am running AMSOIL 75W140

Amsoil does not have modifier so you need it.

me neither, so i used aircraft sealer compound and it will probably never be able to come off again, LOL

Next time use Royal Purple or Mobil 1, they have friction modifier already in it. That way you dont have to worry about how far you can go without it.

I would definitely use the gasket. Using rtv is tricky. You could have a leak afterwards with the rtv because the oil is continuing to drain and will contaminate the sealing surface. Or at least that is the problem I had.
