GM 5.3L in a 1998 Nascar F150

The title says 2001, but it looks more like a 1998 to me. But anyways. That truck sounds like crap, it doesnt sound like its running right, but looks like it will be pretty strong. I was actually considering doing this swap as side project

5.3L full bolt ons with ls1 intake and tsp220/220 (cam)

Sounds like it's either cammed out really hard or the only thing keeping it running is him feathering the throttle. Either way, it sounds, and looks like crap.

looks like a hand made welded steel or aluminum intake. looks like they had some clearance issues up front by the radiator. Probably had to use pusher efans on the front of the radiator.

Yup - for a truck, give me a pushrod motor any day. OHC's are for cars.

i can see the performance of the 5.3 but it's a crime to put a chebbie motor in a ford and if I made the la it'd be hanging matter

however I'd like to run accross it at the track someplace and see what my "gutless truck" does compared to it

*edit* plus that crap looks like liquid poo after a healthy serving of bran cereal

I can appreciate a cross-brand motor swap, if it is just ridiculous and super crazy. This don't exactly get my motor revving.

You mean like about 40 years ago when Car and Driver dropped a Pontiac engine into a Jaguar?
