Confirm what axle I have?

I have a 99 f150 4x4. I've been told back in fourth that i have a 9.75in or 8.8 in. Its a 12 bolt oval shaped diff. It has 3.55 gears and I'm trying to find a R&P gear and install kit for 3.73's. HELP!

If you have the 5.4 you should have the 9.75. A pic would definitely help though. The 8.8 is very round looking, whereas the 9.75 is a little misshapen, more rugged looking

8.8

There should be a tag on the differential that says 9.75 or 8.8.

And the front is always an 8.8 reverse cut.
