slip in rear differential

My rearend seems to have a "slip" in it as I start driving. Shortly after I start accelerating there seems to be a small "slip".

I had replaced rear pinion seal, right rear axle, outer bearings and seals. Re-assembled and didn't fully seat the pinion yoke. Pinion contacted differential carrier when I was driving. (Made a whining sound.) I tightened the pinion nut more, (maybe around 250-300 ft/lb) all seems fine except for this "slip" when I accelerate.

1) Could the nut not be tight enough? The free wheeling torque is on the low end of the scale.
2) Any other ideas on problems with the new axle, or if I messed up the pinion bearings when I didn't seat the yoke?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

One other possibility could be axle wrap. If you come to a stop very slowly and then let off and hit the gas does it still have the slop in it? Sometimes when the driver applies a lot of braking force (especially with little weight in the bed) the springs can pre-load or "wrap up" and then when the driver releases the brakes/hits the gas the leafs will unload and straighten out causing a clunk or slop feeling. My brother just gave me the truck in my signature and I have saggy springs and definite slop somewhere back there. Haven't narrowed my problem down yet for sure.

Thanks for the idea.
Ya, I need to look at that. I have several possible ideas.
-some noise coming from the suspension/axle mount.
-u-joint
-pinion shaft movement (fwd/back) -if I still don't have enough clamp-up to fully seat the bearings...
-limited slip clutch making noise???
