Proper jacking location?

What is the proper jacking location for my 07 F150 4x4? I watched discount jack it with 2 jacks on the front of the lower control arm, 1 jack on each side. Was this OK?

It is listed in the manual, and no the control arms are not the proper place on the 4 up. Should have been jacked up by the frame.

Experience doesn't always equal correctness.

I bet not.

And no, didn't hurt anything. Its fine.

Proper jack spot would be differential with the proper floor jack (rear). Kinda hard to get a floor jack to reach a frame ! Use the frame when using a 4post hoist. For the front, I have used the control arms when I needed to. Aint gunna hurt them.

Would rather take the cherry picker out, and hook it to the tow hook, and lift. Better yet, I use my hoist !

Why were they using floor jacks ? Why on earth wouldn't they try and be profesional ? Throw it on the rack. Gives you a better view, proper way to lift vehicle, looks better, etc. Your truck is fine, but I would hesitate going back.

Front only is the frame, and I have no problem jacking it up from there with a floor jack. Rear is under the spring, not the diff.

more then one way to skin a cat. And unless you weld a bead around the axle tubes, I wouldn't be using those to support my vehicle. Yes, I have seen those break loose and come out. Crazy times. Not likely, but I wont do it. Just and odd fella I guess.

And I have no floor jack that can reach any frame, except my subframe (lifted) and I am not jacking it up using the Fabtech dif drop downs. Using a cherry picker and tow hooks would be far safer then any jack, IMO. And using a 4 post hoist would be what any shop should use.

We use floor jacks in my shop in our tire bay. 3 jacks and that's all we got I prefer to jack the front of my f150 on the subframe.. where the control arm pockets arm. Rear always get jacked under the differential or shock mount sometimes if i only need one tire off.

I think you mean a two post though. If you're taking the tire off on a 4 post you still need to jack the truck up off the light. Then youre back on the differential and control arms more than likely
