Warn Premium Hubs Question

Hey, have a quick question about the install of Warn Premium locking hubs. On a 84' F150, Dana 44 TTB. I had a friend put premiums in about a year ago but I did wheel bearings after that and there was too much play, so the hubs ended up self destructing. Well I got a new set of Warn Premiums and fixed a bunch of other stuff in the front axle area.
I'm not a dumby and know how to install the hubs and already have, but I'm not sure about one part that was in there if its needed or not. There was a big spring behind the Hub body, so between the hub and the spindle lock nut... but I don't recall if that was part of the original OEM hubs or not. The picture on the Warn directions doesn't show that spring in there, but it only shows the warn hubs and not the OEM ones so I'm not sure if that spring needs to be in there or not. I left it out but wanted to see if anybody else knew about before I leave it out or put it in and destroy something again.

I did make sure the hubs were locking and unlocking properly before dropping the truck off the jackstands. And I made sure they were working on the ground as well. Drove it around my neighborhood with the hubs locked (out of 4 wheel drive) to make sure everything sounded good, and it did. So they seem to be engaging and disengaging right so far

Heres a picture of the springs I'm talking about. I don't have the OEM hubs anymore since they were trashed, so I can't look back at them and see if it might have been attached to them.
