05 FX4 4x4

Hello all,
I am a new person to this site and I have found a lot of useful information here but have yet to find a solution to my problems.

My problem is that when I shift the in dash **** to 4hi or low, i get no grip from the front. The 4hi and 4lo lights in the dash all light up when in the respective position. I have checked the vacuum lines and they are operating properly. I even jacked up the front driverside tire and put it in 4hi and noticed that the tire spinned when i turned it by hand as well as the axle shaft going into the hub assembly. I then put it in 2hi and the shaft would not spin with the tire...so that leads me to belive that at least my vacuum lines are working and ingaging/disengaging the hub. I then went as far as putting a floor jack under the rear diff and raising the rear wheels off the ground, then i put it in 4hi in drive and tried to pull forward a bit to see if the front tires would pull forward...but nothing happened.

I can hear the clunking sound from the transfer case when switching from 2hi to 4hi and 4low...

Does anybody have any suggestions on this one??

Both front hubs have to engage in order for the four wheel drive to operate. If one side doesn't work, guess what. No 4x4. Try checking the other side on the front.

Ok, thanks for the response. I will check that out and see if both are locking.

Ok, i just raised up the pass. side front tire. Wheel spins freely whith no spin from the axle shaft. So, my drivers side is locking and my pass side is not...I am getting vacuum to both sides...could it be a bad hub?
