dont mind him he's a small mindin ignorrant jackass.

anyway tell me what you do with your truck.

1. Are you on the highway much?
2. Do you tow frequently?
3. Do you ever plan to lift the truck or put bigger tires on it?
4. DO you offroad at all?

If you already have 3.73's you wont feel much of a difference with 4.10's. Its a pricey swap so you need to do it right the first time.

I am on the highway about 1/3 of the time. I don't even have a hitch. I will never lift her. and no on the offroading. I am going for the street/muscle truck look and feel (i know, i know... it's a 4.6 ya ya). so 4.10s wouldn't have much of a significant feel over the 3.73s. lol i just what my tires to be able a break loose. maybe 4.30s then?

have you considered going turbo or supercharged?

electric fans, custom tune, shift kit long tube headers and underdrive pulleys would help

What would 4.10's do for me??? 285/75's. . . but I want a 4 inch lift and maybe 38's later in life. . . now the truck wont see 10 mpg city/highway

Yes, i have considered supercharging but i am under the impression that there are no 4.6 blowers out there. and electric fans, a gryphon, and long tubes(pacesetters) are very much in the making. a lot of folks on here say the underdrive pulleys are a waste of money. Shift kit sounds fun though. i am in CA though, so apparently long tubes are illegal. as well as the S&B CAI and ROUSH o/r that i already have.

First you wont clear 38's with a 4 " lift. you will need 9" to clear 38's.

Second either dont regear untill you are at the 38's or regear for the 38's

For 38's your gonna want 4.88's

If you plan on running 35's id go with 4.56's

to the OP, im kinda thinking 4.30's will be alittle TOO much gears for what you want. If you never drive the highway then id say you would be fine, but since you do id think your RPMS would be alitte on the high side which equals more gas burned.

Not to jack the thread or anything, but it is better than starting a new one.

I too have the 4.6 and will be putting 33" BFG ATs on the stock 18" wheels this summer. I do probably about 30% highway driving. I will be getting a gryphon and cai before the tires.

Would I benefit by going to the 4.10's?

so 3.73s to 4.10s would not be much of a seat of the pants feel? how much torque gain (xx ft/lbs) would it feel like if i did the swap? my little 4.6 needs def. needs a torque boost (or so it would feel with lower gears)

Do you have 3.55's or 3.73's if you have 3.55's then yes you would benefit to a 4.10's for sure.I think your stock tires height is 31.9 in.

Yeah...I have the 3.55s. If I eventually wanted to go to 35s, would it be stupid to go ahead and put on 4.30s when I install the 33's. Wouldnt install the 35s until further lifted.

I guess my question is, what would it be like to go up to the 4.30s when I add my 33s?

you can go with 4.30's but its gonna cost you highway gas mileage. Im 100% sure it will give you the seat of your pants feel but dont know if you will be happy with the mileage on the interstate.

Id go ahead and get a tuner, CAI, headers, exhaust then see how you like it. IF you dont like it still then go ahead and plan for gears
