4wheelparts sent me wrong gears what should i do

I ordered precision 456 gears for my 9.75 i put in months ago..

i had genuine gears in my 8.8 that i used to have and blew the gears out 2 times...

so i did not want to use genuine gears again...

it was a 8.8 but genuine gears are cheap gears...

I wanted the better gears so i could hopefully have a rearend that would not blow out on me again.... and could take a beating...

All the 4wheel drive shops have blown me off and i found a guy who is willing to take time out of his day to help setup my gears... and he has all the tools..

Im installing them in the morning.. or not i dont know...

would genuine gears in a 9.75 at a 4.56 gear ratio with 35's last and not give me any worrys ?

or should i wait for new gears and wait an extra month ontell my buddy has a free day to install the better gears...

he works all the time and its hard to get him to work on my stuff...

If it's not what you want, send it back. No reason for you to pay for one thing, get another, and then just keep what you don't want.

You're running 4.56 gears with a 35??? I hope you don't do too much highway driving. I did 4.88 with my 37's and now I wish I would have done 4.56

35's n 4.56 on a 2v 5.4 ... i wish i had 4.88's

ssj4shane 12-22-2008 11:56 AM

i dident use the cheap gears...

now i have to wait untell 4wheelparts get ahold of me to fix this problem..

and the guy who was going to install them is backed up so far.....

hes got other stuff to work on and he has to install woodfloors in his house...

4:56 is the PERFECT gearing for 35" tires.

4:88s work well too with 35's but most people use 4.88s with anything over 35's.

THIS WHOLE deal with 4wheelparts is *******ed up...

I ordered the precision 456 gears for 260

the genuine gears are like 180-190...

they dident have the precision in stock so they just tossed the
genuine gears in there... They dident say that but the lady told me
that the precision gears were not in stock and she couldent get them..
so how can u sell something you dont have ?

Thank god i checked all my stuff befor i installed them...
Plus i was overcharged...

im so angery about this

But im getting my money back and if u deal with 4wheelparts u might be getting ripped off so check your stuff

Another horrible 4 Wheel Parts Story.

blackf150337 12-22-2008 04:09 PM

I hate 4wheelparts. I've had these rims for 2 years and they are dikcing me around. They were suppose to refund me or give me another set of wheels. The wheels on my truck now have a cosmetic defect on them. anyways, i'm about to put my front 4.88's in some time this week. i went with yukon gears.

What are you talking about. I'm running 4.88's on my 38's, which are marginally bigger than your 37's, and offset by your massive wheels, and I'm running pretty damn close to stock rpms on the highway.

Ouch, that sucks man. My top speed is definitely higher than 80, and I'm averaging double digit mpg both on and off the highway.

have you recalibrated your speedometer/odometer via custom tuning? if not, your calculations are WAY off.:coffee:
