my friend bought a 2008 fx4 crewcab, 5.4l auto.
he just got it, the problem best i can describe, when you crank it up let it warm about 30 seconds put in drive and go the wheel and truck had s noticable vibrations, the steering wheel will also be moving slightly, after about 5 mintues it just smooths right out and no shake at all. and this happens very time i crank and go, truck has 1500 miles on it. tell me what to lean toward, thanks

 

I have noticed mine does that, 05 FX4 w/60,000 miles. All i can figure is the shocks may be cold and cycling warms them up, or the power steering pump is doing the same thing. mine only really does is when its cold.

This may sound stupid, but its all I got!

 

well he took it to ford dealership and they said! the tires may have flat spots in them for setting so long on dealership lot in one spot, and that the tires may be out of round aswell, i know it sounds crazy but this is what they did to fix it, , out new tires on. fixed!

 

Sounds like it happens a lot to year end trucks. My buddies colorado had the same problem, except they told him to drive for 500 miles and said they could safely over inflate the tires to 60+ psi and drive around. I was with him and told them hell no.
