a couple odd things i found...what do yall think?

I found this hose just sitting in the engine compartment...

so i followed it down and it ended up here

(sorry for the blur) but that is the top of the front axle. it just runs straight to the axle...is that supposed to be connected to something? or maybe just a breather hose? it seems like it might get dirty in there and wouldnt that get in the axle? let me know what yall think about that.

i also was looking at the transfer case and saw this...

and for those of yall who cant see it...here is a closer picture

it looks like there was recently a hose conected to it because it isnt as dirty as the rest of the t case...but i have no idea what is supposed to go on there. the first pictures is just so you can see where it is...it is on the front side of the transer case towards the top of it...on the first pic it is the only shiny part in the pic and the second is just closer so yall can see it.

let me know what yall think these are...any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks

did you ever get a chance to look at your truck and see what used to be hooked up to the t case?

Both are vents. You are missing the hose for the transfer case vent.

sorry man just got around to checking that. and yes both are vents.

like stated earlier the t-case is missing the tube.

Yes they can be moved to different places but id say just add the tube to the tcase and run it up to somewhere that crud wont get in it. DONT STOP THEM UP.

They use this to release the presure caused by the friction between the gears meshing together.

Sorry i didnt get back to you sooner
