hey guys i inherited an 83 ford f150 and i need to replace the rear axel along with the rear end the problem being is I cant figure out what rear end is on it.
I cant find any tags on it anywhere.

Any help would be nice

It sould be an 8.8 inch rear end.
Take the cover off and the ratio should be stamped on the edge of the ring gear.
All so on the door you should have a information sticker and under Axle there should be a code. You can post it back here and some one will help you decode it.

 

If it has a rear cover that bolts on it is an 8.8. If it does not have a cover, than it is a ford 9inch.
